Now, Guardians of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista may have just spoiled DC Studios' long-term plans and according to him, he's been in the loop thanks to the Marvel director with whom he's had a good relationship since getting cast in the beloved MCU project.

Speaking with Insider, the tenured MCU star who also happens to be the top choice amongst fans to play iconic Batman villain Bane revealed that he's had conversations with Gunn about joining the DCU. However, he believes someone his age doesn't have a place in the franchise which he claims will undergo a full reboot.

Bautista said: "I have had conversations with James about that but I think the direction he’s leaning in, completely rebooting that whole universe."

While Bautista does raise a pretty valid argument about the DCU's next chapter, that's not to say that he doesn't have a place in the franchise. Personally, I'd really love to see him get cast as Bane in Matt Reeves' The Batman universe. Considering it's an elseworld story, he doesn't have to worry about lengthy contracts because he can serve as a one-off villain for the caped crusader, and to his credit, he still looks in phenomenal shape despite his age.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit cinemas on May 5, 2023.
