Jessica Alba is catching fire for a statement she made regarding Marvel movies' lack of diverse characters. According to the actress, who played Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman in Fox's Fantastic Four franchise, Marvel movies are "still quite white".
While Alba did clarify that the problem is with Hollywood in general, she still thinks that Marvel's set of actors isn't diverse enough. She told Glamour UK: "Even if you look at the Marvel movies – that’s the biggest driver of fantasy and what’s happening right now in entertainment, because it’s sort of the family thing – it’s still quite white. I would say I was one of the few back in the day… And it was before Marvel was sold to Disney… but it’s still quite… more of the same."
On Twitter, Alba's comments raised a number of eyebrows and most fans don't like the way she seemingly ignored several heroes who are played by people of color. Check out some of the reactions below:

To be fair, I totally get where Jessica is coming from but one shouldn't turn a blind eye to Marvel Studios' efforts in promoting diversity when it comes to their characters. I mean, we literally just got introduced to Ms. Marvel, the franchise's first Pakistani hero.
The argument that the characters featured in Marvel movies are predominantly caucasian invalidates the existence of other heroes played by people of color who are considered major players in the MCU. And there's been a slew of them over the last couple of years — from Sam Wilson to Shang-Chi.
Meanwhile, Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot is currently under development.
