Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were hoping that this year's D23 Expo would serve as the venue for Kevin Feige to finally announce the official cast of the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot but unfortunately, despite all the hype and gossip swirling around the internet about the anticipated project, that just wasn't the case.

According to the most recent reports about the reboot, Marvel Studios hasn't finalized the film's official cast and as it stands, their main priority is to work on the film's script before looking for actors who will join the project. Still, that hasn't stopped fans as well as insiders from speculating online.

Speaking of rumors, a recent tweet sparked major buzz within the MCU fandom on Saturday morning. A viral post on the social media platform claims that pop star Taylor Swift has been cast as Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman in the Phase 6 project. Naturally, a lot of people were incredibly stoked and shared the tweet, not realizing that it came from a fake Discussing Film account claiming to be the outlet.

The page event credited One Take News as its source but obviously, the "report" was false and was probably made by a diehard Swiftie. Check it out here:

This isn't the first time the multi-awarded singer was tapped by the fandom to be in the billion-dollar franchise. In fact, fans have expressed their desire in the past to see Swift get cast as Dazzler in the X-Men reboot, a role that frankly suits her. Considering Taylor is now also venturing into acting, I wouldn't mind seeing her join the MCU.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four is scheduled for release in cinemas on November 8, 2024.
