D23 Expo 2022 was a major letdown for Marvel Cinematic Universe fans who were hoping to finally get casting updates about Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot. Obviously, Kevin Feige didn't reveal the project's official cast during their presentation which is quite bewildering, especially if you take into consideration that the film was announced in 2020. The only thing we learned about the film is that it will be helmed by WandaVision director Matt Shakman.

For months, fans have been speculating which actors will join the project and there were even insider scoops claiming that the studio has found its Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and Thing.

However, despite several insider reports claiming that the franchise's iteration of the First Family is set in stone, it turns out that Kevin Feige and his casting crew have yet to decide which actors would make up the iconic superhero team.

According to a report from Deadline, the Marvel Studios boss said that there was "no cast currently on board", seemingly putting all the Penn Badgley and Jodie Comer rumors to rest.

It makes absolute sense considering the project is still two years away but there's also a good chance that Feige is just trying to keep things under wraps as best as he could. I'm guessing the official cast reveal is being saved for next year's San Diego Comic-Con and it looks like it will be a long wait before fans are introduced to the actors involved in the reboot.

Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four is slated for release on November 8, 2024.
