A lot of fans have aired their frustrations over the way Warner Bros. and DC Films have handled (or mishandled) Henry Cavill's DC Extended Universe career. The last time we saw Cavill, he was redeeming himself as Superman in Zack Snyder's Justice League and despite the fandom being pleased with his performance, it doesn't seem like the studios have plans to keep the British star on board.
In fact, WB and DC Films have actively been developing a new Superman project that will feature a Black Man of Steel. Now, a shocking new rumor suggests that Cavill's version of the mighty Kryptonian is being erased from the DCEU continuity after The Flash. Twitter user @MyTimeToShineH claims that a friend of his has already seen the upcoming film and it is said to replace both Superman and Batman from the Justice League line-up with Supergirl and Batgirl respectively.
The massive rumor sent shockwaves to the entire comic book community and while most fans are incredibly pissed, some people are happy about it as it makes Cavill's alleged jump to the Marvel Cinematic Universe even more possible. Check out some of the reactions below:

The DCEU has been in shambles for years and the idea of it getting a major overhaul sounds like the only thing that could save it from the brink of destruction. It's a shame that WB has constantly ignored the fans in their desperation to match the MCU.
As for Cavill, the actor has expressed his desire to reprise his Superman role in the franchise but if the rumors are true, I think it's time he took his talents elsewhere. Him becoming part of the MCU would be huge.
