After months of anticipation, Marvel Studios finally unleashed the official trailer for their upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe spinoff show Ms. Marvel and for the most part, the reception has been favorable. I say that because despite the excitement the teaser delivered, there are fans who weren't pleased to see the studio make drastic changes to Kamala Khan, the show's lead character.

Those who follow the comics are well aware that Kamala has shape-shifting powers similar to Mister Fantastic's but it's long been rumored that the upcoming Disney+ series will be giving her cosmic-based energy and the trailer pretty much confirms that. It still looks like little touches of her "embiggening" ability are actually present in her current move set but apparently, that's not enough to please the fans who believe the character is being stripped of the qualities that define her as a hero.

Now, if they had things their way, they wouldn't have changed the hero's original set of powers. To call them "furious" isn't doing justice to how they truly feel. Check out some of the reactions below:

It's quite understandable why Marvel chose to retcon Kamala's powers and stretchy abilities because in the long run, it will only draw comparisons to Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic who is also on his way to the MCU along with the Fantastic Four. Personally, I was also skeptical at first but now that I think about it, Ms. Marvel having cosmic powers fits her current role as one of Captain Marvel's allies.

Ms. Marvel begins streaming on June 8 exclusively on Disney+.
