Many fans were shocked when Ken Jennings announced in May that he would be “handing back” to Jeopardy! Co-host Mayim Bialik as he takes a months-long hiatus from the quiz show. After the shocking death of previous longtime host Alex Trebek in 2020, The Big Bang Theory actress was tapped to co-host the famous game show together with series champ Ken on a rotating basis.
After Mattea Roach’s 23-game winning streak, Ken Jennings announced that the show would also be his last episode for some time. The television host confirmed that Mayim Bialik would be stepping in as he takes an extended hiatus from his hosting duties. However, not everyone was thrilled about Mayim being a permanent host of Jeopardy!
Now, a new report claims that Ken Jennings is likely to make a comeback to Jeopardy! to “cure” sick ratings and Mayim Bialik blues. Keep on reading to know more details.
Ken Jennings Returning To Jeopardy! As Ratings Continue To Plummet With Mayim Bialik
Globe Magazine, in its upcoming July 18, 2022 issue, reported that the bosses are ready to write Ken Jennings a blank check if he would come back and save the show. It is claimed that the show’s ratings have dipped for the first time in months, with only Mayim Bialik minding the podium.
An unnamed insider told the entertainment news outlet:
“The terrible ratings have put Ken in a position of power, and he’s playing a genius hand. Even if Mayim gets the job full-time, they’ve made it clear they want Ken back in some capacity. They’re throwing all kinds of money and perks at him – but Ken’s playing hard to get. He can’t forget the way they treated him right after Alex Trebek died.”
Most, if not all, fans can recall producers trotted out several guest hosts when Jeopardy! main stay Alex Trebek succumbed to pancreatic cancer on Nov. 8, 2020, at age 80, including Ken Jennings.
Of Mayim Bialik’s former co-host, an unidentified source shared:
“The way Ken sees it, they were lucky to get him, and producers didn’t support him enough. There were complaints he was too awkward – but clearly, fans prefer him to menacing Mayim! Ken’s telling friends he’ll consider an offer to return at least part-time, but he also wants an apology!”
“Ken’s got to be feeling pretty good right now. He must know he’s got it made.”
Mayim Bialik has yet to comment on the reports saying that producers badly want to have Ken Jennings back due to the plummeting ratings of Jeopardy! So, avid followers of The Big Bang Theory star should take all these unverified claims with a huge grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.
Mayim Bialik Reveals Brutal Truth About Parenting In Emotional TikTok
Meanwhile, Mayim Bialik recently opened up about parenting ups and downs in a hilarious TikTok clip many fans found to be relatable. It all went down back in May when The Big Bang Theory star shared a short video of herself lying down on the floor with a spatula in her hand.
A message in the TikTok video read:
“Having a tired mom moment, but your kids are savages with no filter.”
By looking at the clip, it suggested that Mayim Bialik may not have been actually referring to her own real-life family. Based on the hashtags she used, “Candice Bergen” and “Dianna Agron,” it seems that the television host made the funny post to plug her directional debut film called As They Made Us.
Mayim Bialik then lip-synched an emotional conversation using a voiceover effect. Dianna’s character, Abigail, was heard saying:
“I have no time for myself ever to do anything.”
Candice Bergen’s character, Barbara, retorted:
“Oh, but you had time to ruin your marriage.”
Upon hearing the brutal response, Mayim Bialik pretended to cry even harder. The scene prompted numerous fans to flood her comments section with funny reactions.
Mayim Bialik shares two sons with former husband Micheal Stone – Miles and Frederick. The ex-couple tied the knot for about 10 years before finally divorcing in 2013.
