"Step back into the Matrix with this new poster for The Matrix Resurrections. Watch it in theaters and on HBO Max* this Christmas," the movie's Twitter account captioned the new poster.

The poster doesn't reveal any major spoilers for The Matrix Resurrections but it does give us a fresh look at familiar characters fans loved from the original trilogy. It's still unclear how Neo returns from the dead in the fourth Matrix film since the character apparently died in the third movie, The Matrix Revolutions, but he's clearly back in the new sequel. The official trailer for the film also raises many questions about the film's conflict and the "truth" about the Matrix.

You can watch the official trailer for The Matrix Resurrections here:

The official description of The Matrix Resurrection reads: "From visionary filmmaker Lana Wachowski comes The Matrix Resurrections, the long-awaited fourth film in the groundbreaking franchise that redefined a genre. The new film reunites original stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss in the iconic roles they made famous, Neo and Trinity."

The Matrix Resurrections stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Eréndira Ibarra, Priyanka Chopra, Andrew Caldwell, Brian J. Smith, Ellen Hollman, and Christina Ricci.
