Marvel's New Warriors TV Series Can't Find a Network and is Reportedly 'Dead in the Water'

Remember when it was announced that Marvel's New Warriors show wouldn't show in Freeform and they would try shipping it around other networks? Most of us assumed that the series would find life in Hulu or Disney+ but it looks like that isn't the case since a new report is claiming that this series is now dead in the water. Those of us who were hoping to see a live-action version of Squirrel Girl or Speedball are probably pretty disappointed.

According to Geeks WorldWide, the show is officially dead and hasn't been able to find a new home. This is odd since there was the word of some executives loved the pilot episode, so the fact that we won't be able to see any of it is pretty disappointing.

One reason why fans were looking forward to the New Warriors series was that it was going to be a comedy. Most of the Marvel shows out now have bits of comedy but are more action-oriented like Agents of SHIELD. The fact that Disney+, a service that seems like the home for almost any Marvel television pitch, turned down the series is really disheartening since we'll never see it with our own eyes.

Considering the recent popularity of Squirrel Girl, most of us comic book fans assumed that this would be an instant green light for Disney and Marvel. Perhaps they'll reconfigure this series and make a solo Squirrel Girl show but that's just me being optimistic. For now, we can only hope that these actors find something else to do.
