Marvel's New Spider-Man Series Emphasizes Action Being His Reward

Another day, another new Spider-Man comic book from Marvel Comics. They know people love the guy so it's easy money and if we're lucky, it will actually have some quality to it. Recent new Spider-Man comics have actually been pretty good, like Tom Taylor's Friendly-Neighborhood Spider-Man and Chip Zdarsky Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man so we have some expectations. Thankfully, it looks like this new series, Non-Stop Spider-Man will meet them thanks to the creative team of Joe Kelly and Chris Bachalo.

Joe Kelly is a name that should be very familiar to Marvel fans as the writer wrote one of the most iconic Deadpool runs of all time. Kelly has also written a number of other comics, including I Kill Giants, which has a solid movie adaptation, and even a couple of Amazing Spider-Man issues. Chris Bachalo is also a pretty great and well-renowned artist, working on classics like Sandman, Uncanny X-Men, and even Amazing Spider-Man with Kelly.

Here's Kelly's exciting pitch for the new series, courtesy of Marvel.com:

"NON-STOP SPIDER-MAN is, for me, the best of what Marvel comics can be: relentless action, epic storytelling, mind-melting art, and relevant themes, all grounded by the heart and soul of one of my all-time favorite characters, Spider-Man. Chris and I want to redline your adrenaline and shatter your hearts, giggling the whole time. Please sign your waivers and gather your safety gear of choice before issue #1 comes out. I truly can't wait for this. Buckle up, Tigers."

I'll admit to finding the premise a bit weird since Spider-Man is more well known for relatable and heartwarming superhero stories, though he's always taken part in his fair share of action. That's why it's his reward. Hopefully, Non-Stop Spider-Man is a good time and the creative team gives us one.

Non-Stop Spider-Man comes out this June.
