Marvel's Eternals Could Center on the 'War of Evolution'

Besides the Black Widow movie, Marvel is kick-starting a whole new franchise next year with Eternals. We don't have any official details for the movie yet, but a new rumor has come out suggesting what the main conflict of the film could be.

According to Murphy's Multiverse, the movie could focus on the "War of Evolution." While nothing official has been confirmed, it can be said that the story is based on the 1988 comic Evolutionary War featuring the High Evolutionary. I guess they decided to change the name to make it more ominous.

Based on what I understand, the War of Evolution is the conflict between the Eternals and the Deviants, beings created by the giant Celestials (like the ones we see in Guardians of the Galaxy). The movie is said to span millennia, and it's said that the clashes between the two are what lead to legends and heroes of mythology. Do you think we might see the creation of Asgard here? What about greek myths like Hercules?

For now, it's all just a rumor, so we should take it with a grain of salt. Then again, it does sound like a plausible and interesting storyline to bring to the film. What I'm curious about is how Kit Harrington's Black Knight will come in to play. He's not an Eternal, but it's likely we could run into him during this supposed journey through time of the MCU.

Marvel's Eternals is set to hit theaters Nov. 6, 2020.
