Marvel's Avengers will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia, with a beta coming soon so players can finally experience the game for the first time. PS4 owners seem to be getting a bunch of the benefits early, with those that pre-order the PS4 version getting this beta earlier than other versions. As if early access to the beta wasn't early enough, a listing has revealed that PS4 owners might be getting Spider-Man as an exclusive character for the system.
The listing was originally found at base.com but has since been deleted, though fans on Reddit have found receipts to prove this was listed at one point. Spider-Man is a fan-favorite character and making him exclusive to Sony's console would definitely get some bonus buys, though this has made owners of the Xbox One and PC unhappy.
Online retailer says Spider-Man will be exclusively playable in the PS4 version of Marvel's Avengers
Granted, this listing should be taken with a grain of salt and Spider-Man might not even appear in the game. That being said, this has led to fans joking about characters like Wolverine being a possible exclusive to Xbox One and PC, which would be a neat bonus, if anything else. At the least, here's hoping that Spider-Man is eventually made available to everyone else after a small period of time.
We don't know why Spider-Man would be exclusive to the PS4, though that might have to do with Marvel's Spider-Man and its spin-off Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales being exclusive to Sony's console. That makes some sense but the character is so well-loved by many that making him exclusive to PS4 owners is pretty mean.
Marvel's Avengers will be coming out this September on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. The game will also receive a free PS5 and Xbox Series X upgrade when those systems become available.
