Marvel's Avengers May Have Delayed Black Panther Reveal Due to Chadwick Boseman's Death

Marvel's Avengers is already out for those that pre-ordered the game's deluxe or collector's editions but everyone else has to wait until Friday to get their hands on this title. Fans keep having mixed feelings for the game and the recent announcement of Kate Bishop didn't help things. Not because she's a bad character or anything like that but because Kate's a Hawkeye and so is Clint so they will likely play similarly to each other.

However, fans were quick to point out how the game's third War Table stream started with a tribute to Chadwick Boseman and even said that the video was edited due to his death. They then show a Black Panther logo, indicating that The King of Wakanda was going to be shown but was prematurely cut as a sign of respect to the actor who played him.

While fans would have been stoked to see Black Panther, especially after the passing of Chadwick Boseman, it could have been seen as an insensitive move to showcase the character right away. Hell, it could have also been seen as a tacky promotional tactic to make people buy the game, which could have gone horribly.

Sure, fans would have preferred to see Black Panther over Kate Bishop in Marvel's Avengers but this isn't the end of the game. T'Challa will probably be added to the game sooner and we can't wait to humble those fools trying to invade Wakanda. Until then, let's hope the Hawkeyes are fun to use.

Marvel's Avengers is available now for those that ordered the deluxe and collector's edition. The standard version of this game will be released this Friday, on September 4 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
