Marvel's Avengers Has Fixed Black Widow's Face

Marvel's Avengers might have a lot of hype behind it, thanks to the involvement of both Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics but the game has also been criticized for its character models. They don't look like the MCU stars we're too familiar with and even if you took that aspect away, the costume choices are pretty weird and even off-putting to some.

While Crystal Dynamics put their foot down and said that they wouldn't change the character models, it seems like they're still willing to improve the models without sacrificing all of their work. One fan was able to take a picture of the Avengers SDCC gameplay footage and revealed that Black Widow's face has actually been improved, which is surprising since she already had the best model.

Looks like the characters will be getting some graphical improvements over time

As can be seen, this is a significant improvement over the E3 2019 footage and we can only hope that the other character models have received the same love. And by other character models, we mean Captain America and Thor. Iron Man looks fine and Hulk is Hulk, so they don't need too much improvement (though they could still get it).

So no, they didn't completely change the character models but it looks like they are taking some steps to improve them. They still have a number of months before the game comes out so there is a lot of time for this game to look better. Hopefully, this ambitious project doesn't get delayed, though we'd understand if that was the case.

Marvel's Avengers comes out on May 15, 2020. The game will be coming out on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
