Marvel's Avengers Gameplay Demo Was Reportedly Much Better Than The Trailer

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics' Marvel's Avengers garnered a mixed reception once the trailer was released, showing some weird character designs. The visuals were actually pretty decent but it's clear that the new designs for these iconic heroes were too much for some fans, whether they be comic book followers or MCU addicts. However, people who have played the gameplay demo at E3 have stated that it is much better than the trailer.

Maximillian Dood posted a video about the hands-off demo and claimed that the trailer made the game look much worse than it really was. Apparently, players start in A-Day when criminals led by Taskmaster suddenly come in and attack everyone. Thor is the first playable character and Dood claims that the combat is similar to Marvel's Spider-Man, claiming that it looks smooth and has some beautiful animations.

After Thor handles some soldiers, players switch to Iron Man, who takes part in some Panzer Dragoon-style rail shooting. He is taken down and has to do some ground combat, which is also playable. Soon enough, the Hulk becomes playable and the hero starts smashing everyone in sight.

Players then have to control Black Widow, first through some quick-time events and then when she has to take down some goons. Apparently, the trailer did Widow dirty since Dood claims that there was a lot to like about her gameplay. Then came everyone's favorite; Captain America, who Dood said was the most fun character in the game.

Marvel's Avengers comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, and Google Stadia on May 2020.
