Marvel's Avengers Developers Comment on Which Version of Spider-Man is Joining the Game

Spider-Man coming to Marvel's Avengers is a big deal and the fact that he's exclusive to PS4 and PS5 has made fans think that they will be seeing Peter Parker from Marvel's Spider-Man crossover into this game. However, no official word has been given on which version of Spidey we'll be seeing in Avengers, making fans wonder if they'll do something insane and just make their own version of the wall-crawling hero.

In an interview with Wccftech, Creative Director Shaun Escayg and Combat Director Vince Napoli stayed vague when it came to which version of Spidey would be coming to the title. Without spoiling anything, the developers insist that this will be their own version of Spider-Man coming to Marvel's Avengers, which is a tab bit odd. If Sony is making Spider-Man a PS4/PS5 exclusive they might as well tie it into the Sony exclusive that features the character.

"Without obviously giving any spoilers, the window where you will see our version of Spider-Man will fit into our story. [Just] know that this is our Spider-Man, he will be in our story and will fit in that world, sort of in that gap what happened A-Day and between then and now, even the villains that support that will kind of speak to how he belongs in this world and how long he lives in this world."

Making Spider-Man a PS4/pS5 exclusive to Marvel's Avengers is a smart move but also one that doesn't fit the character. Spider-Man's appeal is that he's just like you and me but with superpowers. Even at his best, the character still gets insecure, angry, frustrated, and so much more, basically changing superheroes, in general, to make them more relatable. And he's restricted to a console that has The Order 1886? Meh.
