A Marvel Villain Has Entered the List of Most Popular Baby Names Based on Disney Characters

Throughout the years since its inception, the MCU has introduced a lot of villains in its numerous films and TV shows with some of them ending up being popular characters themselves alongside the beloved heroes. However, as it turns out, they became so popular that there are parents who have named their babies after them.

According to OrganicBabyFormula.com, Thanos has entered the list of top 10 most popular baby names based on Disney characters ever since his major appearance in Avengers: Infinity War back in 2018. The Mad Titan took the ninth spot on the list and risen 2,892 spots in the Social Security Administration's Name Popularity Index.

The eight names that are still reigning supreme above him are characters such as (in order): Quill (after Peter Quill from Guardians of the Galaxy), Kristoff (Frozen), Rey (Star Wars), Aladdin (Aladdin), Merida (Brave), Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Simba (The Lion King), and Olaf (Frozen).

Some of the other Marvel characters that are in the top 30 list are Wanda (based on Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch), Valkyrie (from the Thor films), and Loki, the God of Mischief himself.

For most people, it is jarring to think that a lot of babies are being named after the Mad Titan since most of us would think that it's not necessarily an ideal name for a baby now that it is associated as a big baddie in Marvel.

However, it is also evidence that the character has become extremely popular ever since Infinity War and has caused surprising inspiration across the boards. Who knows, with villains such as Kang the Conqueror that are going to be introduced in the next few years, maybe they'll end up emerging on the list as well.
