Marvel Theory Suggests Star-Lord Is Secretly Working For Thanos

Fans have been quick to blame Peter Quill for the heroes' resounding defeat in Avengers: Infinity War when he messed up a joint effort to remove the Gauntlet from Thanos. But is it possible that Star-Lord is actually working for Thanos all this time? The idea stemmed from an interesting detail that was spotted in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film.

A Reddit post pointed out Peter's questionable actions in Guardians of the Galaxy when he and his team defeated Ronan the Accuser although the villain would have been well on his way to fight Thanos. Take a look at the post below.

This is a valid point...

It's a hilarious reminder of Ronan's humiliating defeat despite being in possession of the Power Stone. In addition to that, Peter totally ruined Ronan's powerful speech with a dance-off that didn't quite catch on.

So is Peter secretly working for the Mad Titan? The straight answer is, no. However, Star-Lord does have a tendency to make some terrible decisions. Nevertheless, that doesn't make him a bad guy. Besides, would a villain actually sing (and dance to) Ooh Child?

Star-Lord isn't the only character who gets blamed for the Infinity War defeat. Thor, who was already wielding Stormbreaker that has the ability to overpower all of the Infinity Stones, made the mistake of aiming for the shoulder. Even Thanos himself chided the Odinson for the bad move. You really should have aimed for the head, Thor.

We're still unsure if Star-Lord or the rest of the Guardians will actually be brought back in Avengers: Endgame. However, it's a great possibility since James Gunn has just been rehired to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Let's hope the bunch of a-holes will return this April.

The synopsis for Endgame reads as follows:

"The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios' grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Avengers: Endgame."

Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters on April 26.
