Marvel Studios Will Introduce 'New, Surprising' Characters After Avengers 4

There are a lot of questions surrounding what Marvel's future will look like once Avengers 4 has screened. Actually, there are also a lot of questions regarding the ending of Avengers: Infinity War but that's a whole other topic. Point of the matter is, no one knows what the MCU is going to look like and if the original Avengers will still be a part of it.

Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore told Screen Rant that the post-Avengers 4 MCU is going to be filled with new and surprising faces. Obviously, he didn't tell us who these new, surprising faces are going to be but that's all part of the fun. Whether the original Avengers stay or not, it looks like big changes are coming to Marvel's next slate of films.

"I think it's an opportunity for us to bid a fond farewell to characters that we've come to know for a while, but to also then introduce characters who are going to feel completely new and hopefully surprising to both our core fans and fans of our movies who aren't as well-versed in publishing. There are great ideas out there that we've talked about internally that I think and I hope will be surprising and refreshing to audiences while we still continue to explore characters we've come to love. The new ones always feel really exciting because they can be anything. We're at the point now where we're blue-skying, what are the best stories to tell, and in that blue sky there are ideas that I think all of us get really excited to share with people."

Moore does seem to be ready to say goodbye, however, as he noted that Avengers 4 is going to be an opportunity to bid farewell to some characters. It's too early to tell who will be a part of that roster but Chris Evans is a prime suspect, despite seemingly changing his mind recently.

As for who these new faces could be, recent reports have given us some fine contenders. Kevin Feige pointed out how Nova has a possible future in the MCU, even if the Nova Corps was killed by Thanos. Ms. Marvel also looks like she could be joining soon, given her immense popularity. Then there are Jack Kirby's Eternals, a group of cosmic beings who recently got writers.

Avengers 4 will hit theaters on May 3, 2019.
