There's no doubt that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding and the next few years will certainly be something to look forward to. More and more rumors about other Marvel characters making an appearance in future projects have been surfacing as well. With the studio gaining rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises, word is a superhero team closely tied to Wolverine is bound for the MCU as well.

That is according to Caleb Williams of Knight Edge Media, claiming that Alpha Flight is coming soon to the MCU. There was no further information revealed, but Murphy's Multiverse's source says the team is a property that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige believed to have "great potential."

That being said, the latter outlet points out that this information was from before Disney+ was officially a thing. However, given the characters involved in the team, Murphy's Multiverse says this could be a way for Marvel Studios to make their projects feature more representation, as Alpha Flight "provides a great opportunity to diversify their character lineup."

Created by John Byrne, Alpha Flight made their first appearance in 1979's Uncanny X-Men #120, basically seen as Canada's Avengers. The super team also plays a key role in Wolverine's history.

For now, this is just a rumor so fans should take this with a grain of salt. Regardless, it'd be interesting to see how the characters factor into the MCU, possibly creating a well-rounded backstory for Wolverine.

Should Alpha Flight make their way into the MCU soon, which project do you think they should be in? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
