Recently, we've been hearing a lot of stories from VFX artists who have expresses their discontent with working for a Marvel project due to various reasons whether it's the demanding schedule, grueling working hours, or the constant changes that they have to do with the shots closer to the release.
However, with dozens more projects that are coming in the next few years as part of their upcoming phases, there have also been concerns that the VFX studios are going to be backlogged with many works. Now, it looks like Marvel Studios has found its solution to the issue and it could be a potential gamechanger.
ScreenGeek has reported that they heard from their sources that Marvel Studios is considering opening their own VFX house. If the studio will push through with the plan, it will be a gamechanger since it's rare for a movie studio to have its own in-house VFX company.
In case you're not familiar, most VFX works in the Marvel projects are usually done by outside companies around the world since they don't have their own VFX house. However, they do have a sister company that specializes in VFX, Industrial Light & Magic, that does the work in most of the MCU projects.
While opening their own VFX house sounds like a promising solution to their issue, Marvel Studios is still facing the fact that there's gonna be a lot of financial costs if they decide to push through with it and they're gonna require a bigger budget on their projects since they're not going to outsource anymore.
There doesn't seem to be any sign yet whether Marvel will actually push through with the plan. Either way, they do have a lot of issues that they have to address in terms of the VFX since they have several projects that are in the works in the next coming years.
