Before he was handing out beatdowns to the thugs of Gotham City, Ben Affleck was once in the Marvel Universe as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil. However, his 2003 film which tried to capitalize on the massive popularity of Spider-Man failed to click with fans and critics and it's something Affleck has tried putting behind him.

The MCU pretty much confirmed that Charlie Cox is returning as the Man with Fear in the billion-dollar franchise but what if I tell you that Affleck could also make his way back to the Marvel realm? Well, according to a crazy new rumor, it's plausible.

Several sources — from Big Screen Leaks to Grace Randolph have reported that Marvel Studios got in touch with Ben Affleck last year for a possible cameo role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a film that is said to feature characters not only from the MCU but past film properties as well like Sony and Fox. As it stands, no one has confirmed whether or not Affleck agreed to do the alleged cameo.

Considering his brief time as the Man left very little to be desired, I don't think Affleck would even want to revisit the role. On the other hand, his potential involvement in the film could serve as his own redemption arc, something that was successfully given to Andrew Garfield thanks to Spider-Man: No Way Home.

At this point, nothing sounds crazy anymore so the idea of Affleck appearing in Multiverse of Madness shouldn't come as a shocker in case it happens.

Speaking of, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits cinemas on May 6, 2022
