As Hollywood tries to get up and running, news has been slowly surfacing as of late. It seems like the production wheels at Marvel Studios have started turning too, with word that they are in the early stages of casting for a potential one-time Avenger.

Murphy's Multiverse has brought attention to a call sheet recently put out by Marvel Studios casting director Sarah Finn. The sheet calls for a deaf female, Native American, First Nations, Indigenous or Latin, 18 or older, to play the role of "Malia" in an upcoming Disney+ show.

The show is said to start shooting this Fall, with the sheet looking for someone who is also "independent, athletic, and bright" to play a character in their 20s.

While this casting call doesn't indicate what series the part is for, the scooper speculates that it is for Echo, one of Marvel's most prominent deaf characters. The outlet notes that the description matches that of Maya Lopez's character.

That being said, Finn has also worked on Star Wars projects, including The Mandalorian. So while it is possible that the part is for a Marvel series, there's also the possibility that it is a character set to appear in the galaxy far, far away. Especially since the franchise does have some series in development for Disney+ as well.

Created by David Mack and Joe Quesada, Maya Lopez a.k.a. Echo first appeared in 1999's Daredevil #9. She is a top-level martial artist and is often portrayed as a supporting character for Daredevil.

Do you think Marvel Studios is casting for Echo in a Disney+ series?
