Marvel Studios Reportedly Called Avengers 4 By The Name Infinity Gauntlet

Despite the speculation around Avengers 4 being titled Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet, Marvel President Kevin Feige told fans a few days after the premiere of Avengers: Infinity War that the film's sequel wasn't anywhere close to being named Infinity Gauntlet.

However, according to the MCU Cosmic, a rumor has been going around saying that the untitled Avengers movie was actually called Infinity Gauntlet at Marvel Studios throughout its production.

Apparently, multiple sources told the publication that internally the film had been called Infinity Gauntlet, explaining Zoe Saldana's little slip-up during a press event back in April last year. Back during Marvel's promotional campaign for Infinity War, the Guardians of the Galaxy actress accidentally called Avengers 4 by the name Infinity Gauntlet, leading fans to believe that it was the title of the film.

Though this new report might indicate that the film was supposed to be called Gauntlet before Marvel decided to change the title of Infinity War's sequel, it's also likely that Infinity Gauntlet could have been the working title of the film during its production.

Of course, considering the report is based on rumors, fans will have to take this new tidbit with a grain of salt. Fans are probably just going to have to wait a bit longer for Marvel to give out the actual title of Avengers 4.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently screening in cinemas.
