Industry insiders and analysts are expecting Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox and its film and television to finalize this month, and Marvel fans are eager to see the X-Men, Fantastic Four and all of Fox's other mutants make their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So is Kevin Feige, the Marvel Studios president calling the upcoming deal between Fox and Disney as a "very exciting" prospect.
Feige headed down to the Golden Globes on Sunday where he spoke with MTV News and during the interview with the publication Marvel Studio's head honcho was asked which Fox-owned Marvel character he was looking forward to bringing to the MCU's fold. Deadpool, Wolverine, Professor X, Magneto, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four – Feige's excited to see all of them make their way into the franchise.
"The truth is, I'm excited for all of them. I'm excited, and it's not just the marquee names you know — there are hundreds of names on those documents, on those agreements," an eager Marvel Studios President told the publication. "And the fact that Marvel is as close as we may ever get now to having access to all of the characters, is something I've been dreaming about for my almost 20 years at Marvel. And it's very exciting."
Of course, the finalization of Disney's purchase of Fox and its various assets doesn't actually mean that we'll be seeing the X-Men join the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy in Joe and Anthony Russo's Avengers: Endgame. Production for Marvel's 2019 offerings ended last year, and it will probably take some time for Marvel to find a way to bring Fox's mutants into the MCU. Hopefully, they'll all be making their way into the MCU during the start of the fourth phase of the franchise.
Avengers: Endgame is set to premiere on April 26, 2019.
