Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Reminds Fans That No Character Is Invulnerable

Brie Larson's Captain Marvel might be the strongest Avenger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't have any weakness. In fact, according to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, fans ought to remember that none of the heroes in the MCU are as invulnerable as one might think.

Promoting the arrival of Captain Marvel in cinemas next month, Feige spoke with Screen Rant during a press junket. During the conversation with the publication, the Marvel producer was asked how exactly the MCU screenwriters keep insanely strong characters like Carol Danvers grounded. After all, she is the MCU's strongest Avenger.

Not only is Feige's reply worth remembering while watching Captain Marvel, but fans should also keep it in their head when heading down to cinemas for Avengers: Endgame later this year.

"I think, as with some of the other characters you've mentioned, there are no characters — certainly no Marvel characters — that are invulnerable and that are immortal," Feige says, "They can all be killed at some point as Loki says to Thor in Avengers 1. So we may see that at some point, introduce that at some point."

While Captain Marvel's fate in Avengers: Endgame is still very much unclear, there has been major speculation that some of the original Avengers might end up sacrificing their lives during the film. Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evan's contract with Marvel is coming to an end, and what better way to close a career than to create the perfect Swan Song by sacrificing their characters lives for the greater good?

Captain Marvel premieres March 8, 2019. Avengers: Endgame debuts on April 26, 2019.
