The first two Guardians films saw the demise of adult Groot (who was later reborn as "Baby Groot") and Yondu respectively and following the release of the official trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, fans have begun speculating which character dies in the finale GOTG film.

Well, it looks like Marvel Studios dropped subtle hints in the emotionally-driven trailer. In the said teaser, Dave Bautista's character Drax the Destroyer utters a line that seemingly foreshadows his own death. As Drax and Star-Lord discuss their contradicting plans against their adversaries, Drax says "Kill one guy. One stupid guy who no one loves".

Digging deep into what he said, Drax has always been portrayed as the least intelligent member of the Guardians. When it comes to popularity amongst fans, the character isn't the strongest in that department as well so could this imply that he's the next Guardian to die?

It's worth mentioning that Bautista has expressed his desire to exit the MCU, citing that he wants to explore other acting opportunities as he's now getting older. Well, if that's the case, here's to hoping that Drax will finally be given his defining moment.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is slated for release on May 5, 2023. Meanwhile, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is streaming on Disney+.
