Marvel Studios Kevin Feige On Adam McKay Hoping To Direct A Silver Surfer Movie

Last week, Marvel fans learned that Anchorman director was more interested in working on a Silver Surfer movie than Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, a film that Marvel offered to the filmmaker after Disney fired James Gunn in July last year. Now, with Disney's deal with 21st Century Fox coming to a close this year, the possibility of a Silver Surfer movie doesn't seem impossible, especially with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige open to the idea of a comic book movie centered around Galactus' herald.

Feige just recently attended this year's Golden Globe Awards and during an interview with MTV News, the Marvel Studios bigwig decided to give his thoughts on Mckay's hopes to direct a Silver Surfer movie. According to Feige, he's looking forward to talking to the director about the film.

"He's an honest to goodness fan. He did a lot of behind-the-scenes help for us on the first Ant-Man film," the Marvel executive said while speaking with the entertainment news outlet "I look forward to talking with him."

Marvel has had a pretty good relationship with McKay. The filmmaker helped rewrite the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Ant-Man standalone movie after Edgar Wright left the project. After working on Paul Rudd's outing as Scott Lang, Feige helped McKay get a cameo appearance as Galactus in Vice.

Now, with Disney's deal with Fox on the way, Marvel fans are hoping to see the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and all of Fox's different mutants in the MCU soon and that could only mean one thing – the chance of a Silver Surfer movie.

Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
