Since Disney's massive acquisition of Fox in 2019, fans have been dying to get updates regarding the arrival of the mutants to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and so far, Marvel Studios hasn't given us anything. So far, the only confirmed mutant to be making his MCU crossover is Ryan Reynold's Deadpool.

Of course, it's quite understandable considering Phase Four hasn't even reached its peak yet but now, it looks like the X-Men reboot is finally taking some shape. Well, as per a new rumor, at least.

According to a new scoop from tipster Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios has begun casting for an "untitled" show and the descriptions seems to point towards Gambit's arrival to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The listing says that the studio is looking for a male actor in his 20s who will play a Louisiana native named "Talex Beaudreaux".

Apart from that, the studio is also looking for actors who will play Beaudreaux's parents. The character's description seems to be a dead giveaway as longtime fans of the X-Men franchise are well aware that Gambit aka Remy Etienne LeBeau is from New Orleans.

Now, it looks like Gambit will be the first official mutant to crossover to the MCU before Deadpool. I also like the idea of Marvel Studios working on a potential series to "reintroduce" the X-Men to the fans. The real question is, when will the studio make the announcement? With San Diego Comic-Con just around the corner, that would be the perfect venue for sure.

Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot is currently in development.
