The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a thing since 2008 and is still a force to be reckoned with in entertainment. For years, however, fans have predicted when the MCU hype will run its course, with a lot of people convinced that the Infinity Saga would have seen the franchise's peak. Obviously, they were wrong.

Unlike other film and television franchises like, say, Star Wars, the MCU has consistently put out projects every year since its inception which is utterly mind-blowing. Well, except of course during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the universe ever-expanding, the question still remains: when will the MCU end its dominant run?

Speaking on The Town with Matthew Belloni podcast, Marvel Studios VP of Production & Development Nate Moore shared his honest opinion on how long the MCU will last. While Moore didn't give a definitive answer, he believes the franchise will continue to exist for a long time.

He explains: "I mean, I think it can go for a long time. I think we have to continue to… We can’t sit back on our laurels. We can’t think we have the answers. We have to continue to push the envelope as far as genre and what we’re willing to explore. But to me, Marvel movies are just movies. Our source material is just… It’d be like saying, ‘Hey, are movies about books gonna go on forever?’ Probably."

As the old saying goes, nothing lasts forever but it would be safe to say that the MCU will continue its impressive run for more years to come, as long as Marvel Studios can give fans compelling stories. And hey, there are still loads of characters who have yet to make their debut in live-action.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is screening in cinemas everywhere.
