The last couple of months has been a major letdown for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Marvel Studios failed to deliver the announcements they were hoping for. One of which is the release date confirmation for Deadpool 3 which will finally see the Merc with a Mouth cross over from the now-defunct FoxVerse to Earth-616. The project was confirmed to be in development last year but key details about it have remained scarce.

Now, a new release update for an untitled Marvel Studios project seems to give fans a hint as to when we can expect Ryan Reynolds' MCU debut. The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit took to Twitter to share news about an intriguing MCU project which has been pushed back to late 2024.

Kit notes that the project, originally scheduled for a February 16, 2024 release date has been moved to September 6 of the same year. The title of the project in question and the reason behind its delay weren't disclosed but fans are under the impression that it is in fact Deadpool's first outing in the MCU.

It would make sense for Deadpool to become the first official mutant to make his debut in the billion-dollar franchise and it's safe to say for now that it will happen within the next two phases of the MCU. It's also worth noting that we're in the middle of the Multiverse saga and considering the project confirms that Wade Wilson will still be the same guy from the first two Deadpool films, it only means that he'll be coming from somewhere outside the franchise's main continuity.

Ryan Reynolds is rumored to be heavily involved in Deadpool 3.
