Marvel Star Jake Gyllenhaal On Whether He’s Returning As Mysterio In Sinister Six Movie

Mysterio might have been killed in Spider-Man: Far From Home, however, Marvel fans have been holding on to the hope that they might see Jake Gyllenhaal's Spider-Man villain again, perhaps in a Sinister Six movie.

While the likelihood of another Spider-Man movie seems a bit unlikely considering that the wallcrawler agreement between Sony and Disney has fallen through, the Far From Home star seemed a bit cagey when asked about returning as Mysterio.

The Academy Award-nominated actor just recently spoke with Talks at Google to speak about the broadway play Sea Wall/A Life, and during the discussion, Gyllenhaal was asked whether or not he would return to Marvel as a member of Sinister Six.

"Oh, man. Wow. I mean, like, I think that — you know, I mean, you know," Gyllenhaal coughed up, trying to evade the question.

Noticing how cagey his answer seemed, Gyllenhaal's Sea Wall/ A Life co-star Tom Sturridge joked that the actor might get struck down by a dart if he'd answer the question honestly. The Far From Home star playfully collapsed during the interview.

"Oh, I lost my mic, sorry. Oh whoops, I lost my mic! I can't answer your question," Gyllenhaal told the hosts, "No, I mean, I think that, I think... he's dead, man. Right? Right? Right?"

It's pretty cute how nervous the actor seems when asked about whether or not he's going to return as part of Sinister Six movie, but then again, the actor may just very well be playing around.

What do you think? Is Gyllenhaal hinting that he'll return in another Spider-Man movie? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is expected to get its digital release sometime this October.
