Marvel Star Dave Bautista Slams Catholic Bishop For Condemning Gay Pride Month

Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War star Dave Bautista is making a stand for the LGBTQ.

Taking to Twitter, Bautista has responded to Catholic Bishop Thomas Tobin's comments condemning Catholics for supporting and attending LBGTQ events for Pride Month. In his comments, Bishop Tobin urged Catholics not to participate in any of June's Pride Month Events, saying that they "promote a culture and encourage activities that are contrary to Catholic faith and morals."

Posting on the social media site, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor openly talks about his mother, saying that he turned out pretty much fine growing up under the wing of a lesbian woman.

"My moms a lesbian. I think I turned out ok," Bautista wrote on Twitter. "And the activities she chooses is to help the homeless and people suffering from mental illness. I admit I'm not perfect but at least I was never a judgmental hypocrite! I'm sure you don't speak for most Catholics. Have a nice day." He also ended his response with a middle finger emoticon."

Bautista's outrage over Tobin's comments shouldn't come as a surprise. The Marvel star has publicly supported his mother and the LGBTQ on Twitter multiple times in the past. The actor has always been vocal about what he thinks is right, standing up for the LGBTQ.

Right now, fans are waiting to see Bautista return in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Disney rehired James Gunn to direct the film earlier this year, however, the filmmaker has yet to complete his obligation with DC and the DC Extended Universe's Suicide Squad 2.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
