In a shakeup in its command strucutre, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will circumvent Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter and report directly to Disney Studios chief, Alan Horn, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A company spokesman described the move as "the logical next step" after what a source described as "several years of frustration" between Feige and Perlmutter. Marvel Studios will now work directly under Disney CEO Bob Igor and will no longer be controlled by Marvel Entertainment. According to THR, the reorganization took effect last week, as a result of conversations between Feige, Horn, and Igor earlier this summer.

This is a huge step for both Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige who have been developing the Marvel Cinematic Universe with films like Iron Man, Avengers, Ant-Man, and more.

Perlmutter has been given the blame for being frugal and controlling. Earlier this year, there were reports that Perlmutter was unhappy with Marvel's publishing side promoting Fantastic Four and X-Men comics, while parent company Disney didn't own the film rights. The subsequent cancellation of Fantastic Four ignited the flames of these rumors. Jeph Loeb will continue speaking with Issac Perlmutter when it comes to reporting the TV side of Marvel and will oversee Marvel's animation and publishing.

Are you excited about this news? Do you think the Marvel Cinematic Universe will continue to strive with this reorganization?
