Marvel Studios finally answered the prayers of MCU fans all over the globe by releasing the much-anticipated trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder. After seeing the visually stunning teaser, it's clear from the get-go that Taika Waititi is making drastic changes to the Thor character who seemingly ends his journey as a vital member of the Avengers. It also looks like his allegiance to the Guardians of the Galaxy is short-lived as it was officially revealed that he has formed an alliance with the Ravagers in Sakaar.
But the most intriguing "change" to Odinson was seemingly teased during the latter part of the trailer. When Peter Quill aka Star-Lord was delivering his speech about feeling lost, saying to Thor that he should "just look into the eyes of the people that you love" as the Guardians were looking on, Thor gave him an odd and almost affectionate gaze which evidently weirded out the GOTG leader.
This led a lot of fans to believe that Marvel Studios is actually turning Thor who's been a heterosexual male for most of his MCU tenure into a bisexual, kinda like Loki. It quickly became a hot topic amongst diehards of the franchise on Twitter and when you think about it, it does beg the question: is Marvel actually changing up Thor's sexual orientation? We've witnessed how goofy the Thor character has been throughout the years and the "tension" or "electricity" (whatever you want to call it) between him and Star-Lord could just be a playful thing. However, it's also worth noting that Marvel made Quill canonically bisexual in the comics so I guess it's making a crossover to the MCU.
Thor: Love and Thunder is currently slated for release on July 8, 2022.
