Marvel Says The Guardians Are No More, Teases Asgardians of the Galaxy

When Thor: Ragnarok was first advertised, many immediately compared it to Guardians of the Galaxy and jokingly called it Asgardians of the Galaxy, though it did differentiate itself from the two films as it went on. Turns out Marvel may have liked the joke name fans made, as the company has stated that the Guardians are no more and are now teasing a possible comic called Asgardians of the Galaxy.

This teaser from the comic book publisher has many intrigued since most of us expected to see the Guardians return after Infinity Wars. The logo looks like the one for Guardians of the Galaxy but with Asgardians instead, though nothing more was revealed.

In the comics, Asgard is in ruins after the attack from the Mangog, with Jane Foster sacrificing her life to save everyone by throwing the monster and Mjolnir to the sun, so they could look for a new home in space.

Now we need to figure out who the possible members of Asgardians of the Galaxy are. Thor seems like a possible member since he's the most popular Asgardian in comics right now. Loki doesn't seem likely since he is currently tormenting his brother and the Avengers. Perhaps Sif and what remains of the Warriors Three will be involved?

We will have more on Asgardians of the Galaxy once Marvel releases more information.
