Marvel Reportedly Wants 'Into the Spider-Verse' Star Hailee Steinfeld for Hawkeye Disney+ Series

It might not have the buzz like Wandavision does but fans are pretty excited for the upcoming Hawkeye Disney+ series starring Jeremy Renner. Marvel already confirmed that the series would introduce Kate Bishop to the MCU, opening the doors to Young Avengers. We still don't know who will be playing the other Hawkeye but if Marvel Studios has their way, they would get Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse star Hailee Steinfeld.

Yup, they want Spider-Gwen to be Hawkeye. This is the same company that is making Minn-Erva an Eternal and turning Cottonmouth into Blade, so anything can happen.

According to Variety, Steinfeld is their top choice to play as the younger Hawkeye for, well, Hawkeye. Representatives from both sides have yet to comment on the matter so we aren't sure if talks are underway or if this is just top executives from the studios spreading information and hoping to make it come true.

Steinfeld has proven to be a force in the entertainment medium, managing to sing and act. She did very well in both Bumblebee and Into the Spider-Verse so it appears that her star will keep shining brightly. Considering how Kate Bishop is in the comics, Steinfeld will probably do a good job at playing the character, if she should get the role.

There might be some fans who will start theorizing that Marvel wants to hurt Sony by taking away Spider-Gwen from future Spider-Verse films but that's ridiculous. Steinfeld is a talented actress and there's a very good chance that they'll work around her schedule since she does shoot other non-superhero movies.

Hawkeye will be coming to Disney+ in Fall 2021.
