Earlier this week, rumors started circulating online saying that Marvel has been hoping to bring Norman Osborn into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to these reports, Marvel is planning to extend its contract with Sony so that it could bring in one specific character from Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters to add things "beyond Spider-Man."
Now, new information from The Hashtag Show (via Express) gives fans updates regarding the rumor. Not only do sources say that Norman Osborn was written into the script for Sony's upcoming Silver and Black movie, but apparently the delayed production of the SUMC movie was because Marvel wanted to get him out of the film's script and into the MCU.
While this new report ought to be taken with a grain of salt like every other rumor ought to, That Hashtag Show has a reputation for making good scoops. Norman Osborn has been one of the most iconic Spider-villains, so it would definitely make sense for Marvel to want to bring the baddie into the MCU – even if it means having to scoop the character out of Sony's Silver and Black movie.
Spider-Man: Homecoming teased the arrival of the Sinister Six and right now we have Vulture and Scorpion from Homecoming, plus Mysterio and Chameleon from Spidey's latest movie, Spider-Man; Far From Home. If Tom Holland's web-slinger were to get a third film, which he most likely will, then it would probably feature the Green Goblin, wouldn't it? Imagine a Spider-Man trilogy without Green Goblin.
For now, let's cross our fingers and wait for more information to come out.
Spider-Man: Far From Home makes its way to cinemas July 5, 2019.
