Marvel Reportedly Planning to Introduce Original X-Men in Brand New S.W.O.R.D. Disney+ Series

It's been quite a while since Disney completed its acquisition of 21st Century Fox and the studio's film and television assets, however, Marvel has yet to announce its plans for the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and all of the other mutant properties that it's acquired through the merger.

There have been many rumors circulating online though, and the most recent report seemingly teases Marvel's plans to introduce one particular member of the original X-Men.

Citing pop culture insider and news scooper Mikey Sutton, YouTube Channel Everything Always reports that Marvel is planning to introduce original X-Men character Hank McCoy, aka Beast, into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Though the studio is probably going to have to recast the character played by Kelsey Grammar and Nicholas Hoult, Beast is reportedly going to make his way into the MCU by appearing in Marvel's unannounced S.W.O.R.D. series meant for release on Disney+.

For those who aren't that familiar with the group, S.W.O.R.D. is the cosmic equivalent to Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. In Marvel comics, the group focuses on intergalactic threats and other cosmic terrors. While Marvel did not publicly announce the project, Spider-Man: Far From Home's post credit's sequence did tease the emergence of S.W.O.R.D., so this new report by Everything Always seems to have some sort of basis to it at least.

According to the channel, this new series is also going to serve as the entry point for a number of other Marvel characters, hopefully, more of the original X-Men.

Let's wait and see whether Marvel announces this new series.

Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on November 6, 2020.
