Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista has gone on record to say that he owes his Hollywood fame to Marvel but he's also expressed his frustrations over the way his character, Drax the Destroyer has been handled since his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. The former wrestling superstar and multi-time WWE champion has grown increasingly unhappy with his MCU stint, so much so that he claims Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be his final film in the franchise.

Director James Gunn also seems to support Bautista's desire to exit the MCU as he himself has actively been teasing on social media that he's on his way out after Vol. 3. However, a new scoop from Giant Freakin Robot claims that the higher-ups of Marvel Studios are quite adamant about keeping Bautista and according to their source, the Army of the Dead star is being offered "millions" by the studio to stay.

The specifics of the rumored offer weren't disclosed but the idea that Marvel is trying to woo Bautista despite his desire to retire from his Drax role doesn't seem too farfetched at all. For starters, the actor is becoming an even bigger deal in Hollywood thanks to his side projects. On the other hand, there's also a possibility that Marvel wants to make good with him by giving Drax a more significant role in the franchise. I mean, that's all he ever wanted since the beginning. It'll be interesting to see though if the studio will be successful in luring him.

The MCU's third Guardians of the Galaxy film is scheduled for release on May 5, 2023.
