Guardians of the Galaxy Star Dave Bautista Expresses Disappointment Over Avengers Role

I think we can all agree that everyone in the Marvel Universe had a major score to settle with the Mad Titan Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and they all had valid motivations for killing him but in Avengers: Endgame, it was Tony Stark aka Iron Man who had the honor of hitting the final blow as he "snapped" the big bad out of existence saving the universe in the process.

However, one MCU actor believes that he should've been the one to obliterate Thanos in the Infinity saga given his history with the villain and the emotional torment he had to go through thanks to him. Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista recently opened up about his frustration over Drax not being given the opportunity to kill arguably his biggest adversary.

In an interview with JoBlo, the Army of the Dead actor said that a lot of fans wanted to see it happen. He explains: "Yeah, I think everybody was [disappointed]. I said in interviews somewhere where that I wish Drax would've killed Thanos and I got all these people saying, ‘That doesn't even make sense! How could you say that? Drax doesn't deserve to get to kill Thanos!' And I said it because there's not a character in the Marvel Universe that doesn't want to kill Thanos. Of course, Drax wanted to kill Thanos. Everybody wanted to kill Thanos."

Of course, Iron Man being the one to kill Thanos makes a lot of sense when you think about it. However, I can totally understand where Dave's frustration is coming from and I just wish the upcoming Marvel projects will treat Drax a little better and present him as a more badass and formidable character, not just someone who is only there as comic relief. After all, he's called "The Destroyer".

Meanwhile, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is in development.
