Marvel Reportedly Considering Rami Malek For Silver Surfer Solo Movie

Ever since Disney completed its merger with 21st Century Fox, Marvel fans have been wondering when exactly Marvel might begin integrating the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool and all of Fox's other mutant superheroes into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The mutants all belong to Marvel's library of superheroes, however, the film rights to the characters have been with Fox for so long, they've existed entirely outside of the MCU. The past few months, there have been various rumors about the X-Men and the Fantastic Four making their way into Marvel's comic book movie universe, and according to the most recent report, Marvel might be considering a Silver Surfer solo installment.

Marvel and DC insider Mikey Sutton (via Showbiz Cheat Sheet) has the latest scoop on the Fantastic Four in the MCU, and apparently, a Silver Surfer solo movie might be on the way to the MCU. Marvel is also considering Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek for the role.

According to Sutton, Marvel plans to introduce the Fantastic Four associated character before presenting Marvel's First Family, saying that Marvel Studios President plans to adapt Silver Surfer's origin story for the MCU.

To those who aren't familiar with the character, the Silver Surfer is famously known as the herald of Galactus. The character starts out as Norrin Radd, a young astronomer hailing from the planet Zenn-La. When Galactus appears to consume Radd's world, the astronomer makes a deal to prevent his planet from ending up in the devourer of the planet's stomach. Radd son becomes Galactus' herald, scouting the universe for planets for the cosmic entity to feast on.

While news of a Silver Surfer movie might sound exciting, we advise fans to take the report with a grain of salt. We have to wait for confirmation from Marvel before getting all hyped up over the news.

Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on May 1, 2020.
