Hawkeye is back and will be getting the spotlight once again with a new comic book series that'll follow his epic adventures!
Marvel recently released a trailer for the character's series titled Hawkeye: Freefall. Written by Matthew Rosenberg and artist Otto Schmidt, the story will put Clint Barton in a situation where his identity will be quite vulnerable. A new fighter will be using his one-time identity of Ronin, and also has The Hood as his target, this will cause other heroes to believe it's Barton lurking the streets.
The story will be surrounding the mystery of Ronin's real identity and readers will eventually discover if Ronin could actually be deemed as Hawkeye's ally with a common enemy and why they have crossed paths in the first place.
In addition, a few heroes will have supporting roles in this comic series, including Black Widow, Falcon, Spider-Man, and the Winter Soldier. You can check out the full trailer below.
In an interview with ScreenRant, Rosenberg revealed that the Freefall title pertains to the idea of Hawkeye living his life "on a tightrope." The hero will be "stepping out of his comfort zone, away from safety," and in a way, the writer thinks the title could also be seen as "liberating." "Or maybe he's just moving at top speed, out of control, and it's going to end badly. I guess you have to read it," he added.
Hawkeye: Freefall #1 is now available.
