It looks like ABC is getting another Marvel series.
Speaking in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey decided to open up about Marvel Television's future with the network after briefly addressing the fate of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel's flagship television series in ABC.
Not only is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continuing after its sixth season on the network, but it looks like ABC and Marvel are currently negotiating a new project together. Though Dungey wasn't able to give away more information regarding this project, the ABC Entertainment executive said that in the face of Disney's upcoming streaming service, Marvel and ABC have decided to start "cooking up a couple of things for broadcast."
Right now, there's no certainty what these projects could be, however, we're pretty sure that old Marvel projects like Damage Control, the untitled John Ridley project and Marvel's Most Wanted won't be among them. It's more likely that ABC and Marvel will want some series following the development of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – possibly a series that would reflect the future of the MCU after Avengers 4.
Of course, all of this is speculation. We'll just have to wait for further announcements from Marvel TV and ABC.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to return in summer 2019.
