Hulu and Marvel Television released its first look photos of Helstrom yesterday, and while fans were eager to see the photos of the Marvel horror series cast, not everyone seemed to be happy with what they saw.
Marvel fans gave mixed reactions to the live-action series coming from the production outfit that Jeph Loeb Once lead, mainly because the production and the design look rather, plain. While there are fans expressing excitement over new Marvel content, many others seem to be disappointed in the fact that the design doesn't seem too comic accurate.
The pictures that Marvel released gave fans their first look at Daimon Helstrom to be played by Tom Austen, Santana "Ana" Helstrom to be played by Sydney Lemmon, Victoria Helstrom by Elizabeth Marvel, Caretaker by Robert Wisdom, and supporting characters to be played by Alain Uy, Ariana Guerra, and June Carryl.
Despite the mixed reviews to the photos, Hulu content chief Craig Erwich says that the streaming company is pleased with the quality of the upcoming series.
"We're in production on [Helstrom]," Erwich told guests during a Television Critics Association event earlier this year, "I've seen the first four episodes of that and I'm really excited about it. It's definitely a different corner of the Marvel Universe in terms of its horror. It's a really unique take on a horror show that has a unique family situation at the center of it."
We shouldn't really judge Helstrom too quickly though. The series might turn out to be a decent project. Let's wait and see.
