Marvel Fans Believe We’ll See More of Scarlett Johansson in the MCU

Black Widow might be Scarlett Johansson's final movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, fans seem to believe that the actress is going to go on playing Natasha Romanoff despite the fact the character sacrificed her life in Avengers: Endgame.

Forced to stay at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Marvel fans have been spending their time rewatching Marvel movies, spotting Easter Eggs, and discussing potential storylines in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Posting on Reddit, one fan asked whether anyone else believes that the Black Widow movie would evolve into a trilogy, one where the sequels would star Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova as the new Black Widow.

While Marvel fans agree that Yelena Belova is going to have a bigger role in the MCU moving forward, some believe that Marvel is going to keep Natasha in the franchise for a little bit longer.

"I bet Fiege has something interesting up his sleeve that will give SJ/BW her due. I don't think SJ is done with the role quite yet," one fan speculated.

Others seem to agree. Despite being one of the original six Avengers, Black Widow was never given her own standalone film – until now that is. Marvel would be amiss to give Johansson one standalone movie and let her go. Maybe we'd see her in a few flashbacks. Maybe we'll see her again in an alternate universe in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Maybe we'll see her in a different time in Marvel's Loki series.

Let's wait and see what Marvel has planned for Natasha.

Black Widow is set to premiere on November 6, 2020.
