It finally happened, webheads! After months of anticipation, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures finally released the official trailer of the highly-anticipated Spidey sequel Spider-Man: No Way Home, and boy, to say that it broke the internet would be a damn understatement because it totally wrecked all of it. The teaser was initially supposed to have an exclusive screening at CinemaCon 2021 but after being leaked online prior to the spectacle, it left the powers that be without a choice but to release it simultaneously.

The trailer was home to several mind-blowing moments and the beauty of it is, a lot of things were happening yet it doesn't give away that much information. Towards the end of the 3-minute teaser, Alfred Molina's Doc Ock makes his grand Marvel homecoming as confronts Peter Parker. Although Molina's casting has long been confirmed, Marvel fans still had chills upon seeing Doctor Otto Octavius shockingly turn up in Earth-616. Quite frankly, it's hard not to feel that way. It'll be interesting to see how Otto ended up being alive and well in a universe that is unfamiliar to him. If you may recall, the villain died in Spider-Man 2 after submerging the energy source in the river where he built his fusion reactor. Of course, there is a good chance that this version of Doc Ock is different from the one we saw in the Raimi trilogy, or maybe he was taken from his own universe at a certain point in time, most likely before his death. Either that or the multiverse can suddenly turn a deceased person alive. It's still a little too early to theorize so we're left without a choice but to wait for the actual film to drop.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released in cinemas on December 17, 2021.
