Marvel Fans Are Complaining About Black Panther’s Best Picture Snub

Black Panther might be the first comic book movie to nab three different awards at the Oscars, but fans still felt cheated when the film failed to win this year's Best Picture at the Academy Awards.

Taking to Twitter, fans have been posting about Black Panther's Oscar snub, expressing their dissent over the Academy's decision. Though it was one of the most popular Best Picture nominees, Black Panther lost the award to Green Book, a biographical comedy-drama starring Mahershala Ali (Luke Cage, Moonlight) and Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings trilogy).

While some fans do admit that Green Book was a pretty good film, others believe that Black Panther, The Favourite, and Bohemian Rhapsody would have been better choices for Best Picture. Some even call Black Panther the best film of 2018.

Check out some of the tweets down here:

Despite the heartache fans feel for Black Panther missing out on the Best Picture award, the comic book standalone movie still did a marvelous job at this year's Academy Awards, nabbing the top award for categories like Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, and Best Original Score.

Though the film didn't win in the other categories it was nominated in, the Academy did recognize Black Panther for Best Original Song, Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing.

With its three Oscar Wins, Black Panther has officially become the best-performing superhero movie at the Oscars, beating The Dark Knight and its two Oscar record.

Chadwick Boseman is set to reprise his role as Black Panther in Avengers: Endgame which premieres on April 26.
