There's no denying that the shocking and untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman left a massive void in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which is quite hard to fill but to some fans, they'd rather see someone else continue the legacy of King T'Challa aka Black Panther instead of actually burying it along with Boseman's memory.
On the other hand, the majority of the MCU's fandom believe that recasting someone else for the role would be disrespectful to the late actor and I kinda agree with that sentiment as well. As it stands, it's still unclear what Marvel Studios' next move would be ahead of the start of Black Panther 2's production but one Marvel fan launched an online petition in hopes of changing the direction of the film.
Online reviewer Emmanuel "E-Man" Noisette recently launched a virtual campaign on Change.org asking Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige to look for a new actor to play T'Challa in the franchise.
The petition titled "Recast T'Challa To Honor Chadwick Boseman In the Black Panther Franchise" was officially launched just last week and so far, it has been able to generate over 2,000 signatures which aren't all that surprising as some people are actually okay with Boseman being recast.
Personally, I'm not down with the idea of Chadwick getting recast in the franchise and while other people may argue that recasting an actor isn't something new, the difference is Chadwick actually died, and in my book, replacing him as Black Panther isn't the way to honor his legacy. He is simply irreplaceable and people need to respect that.
Meanwhile, Black Panther 2 is under development.
