Marvel Fan Imagines The Most Heart-Breaking Mid-Credits Scene For Avengers 4

Marking the end of Marvel's two-part Avengers movie, Marvel fans are already expecting for all kinds of heart-ache in Avengers 4 and it looks like one Marvel follower even sees a mid-credits sequence that would reduce the fanbase to tears.

Taking to Reddit to share an imagined mid-credits sequence for the sequel to Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel fan ZeromusPrime broke hearts when he suggested that Marvel ought to forego its usual style of teasing what's to come in the franchise by honoring Captain America (Chris Evans) with a little "In Memoriam" card for the fallen First Avenger.

Though Marvel has yet to confirm Steve Roger's death in the movie, fans have been expecting Captain America to sacrifice his life to help Iron Man (Robert Downey) and the rest of the remaining Avengers undo Thanos' finger-snapping massacre in Avengers 4

Earlier this year, Evans revealed that his contract with Marvel Studios was coming to an end, and last month the actor shared a heartbreaking message to signal the end of his work on the sequel to Infinity War. This post has brought many to believe that Cap's life would come to an end in Avengers 4 – something which Evans had to clarify during a recent appearance at this year's ACE Comic-Con in Chicago.

"I should clarify that I know I did tweet something that made a lot of people think that it was in some way a spoiler," Evans explained to fans during the convention. "I should clarify that regardless of how Avengers 4 ends, I would have tweeted the exact same thing. That last day of filming was a very emotional day and it was the culmination of almost 10 years of filming and 22 movies, this unbelievable tapestry. You feel a lot more emotions than I think even I thought I'd feel. And I felt it was appropriate to share the gratitude. I know it had a ripple effect but I am neither confirming or denying anything."

Of course, while it seems very likely that Cap would sacrifice his life for the better good in Avengers 4, Evans wouldn't want to give away spoilers to the movie. Marvel wouldn't be happy if the actor gave away one of the biggest deaths in the movie. The studio wouldn't be happy at all.

Avengers 4 is set to premiere May 3, 2019.
